Kids Say the Darndest Things...and So Do Their Parents

A couple of weeks ago I was in the kitchen at my work. I asked my boss, Joe, to sign an insurance paper for me. His 8-year-old son was there (not surprising since my work is at Joe's house). He looked from me to his dad and back again and said, "Heidi, are you my dad's boss?" I looked at him and said, "No, your dad is my boss." Joe looked at his son, winked at him and kind of whispered, "Yeah, that's what all women will tell you." I totally wasn't expecting that. It was funny.

Well, lots else has happened since then, but since it's 11:39 pm, I'm going to bed. I do have to say this whole Holly/cancer thing has taken me by surprise. I think I'm still in a state of shock/denial about it all. Someday it will hit. All I can say is Holly and her family are in my prayers. Hope she heals very quickly--from the surgery and otherwise.

Holly did say she saw John and Myra at the surgeon's office last Friday. She has the same doctor as John. How crazy is that? And that they'd be there at the same time.
